My future job

Hello classmates!

Today I will talk about my future job, I mean on that work I would like to have in the future.

I would love to work in something related to my career. I would like to work in research or documentation on artworks. something like working in the Museum of Memory and Human Rights.

I would also like working watching movies, write reviews about them and classify them according to their public. It would be my dream job, because I love to watch movies of all kinds, even if they are bad. anyway this would be my dream jobs.

Anyway next year I need to work. I need a part time job, so in this case I would like to work as a waitress in a nice neighborhood, near where I live. I could also work in a bookstore, or a store that sells materials for art, because I know the subject and so could be a good consultant for beginning artist

I could be comfortable in a job like this.

And as a last option. I work in a store like Casa & Ideas, because I like the stuff they sell there, but I think it must be a boring job, I would not mind at all.

I've had friends who have worked in the Cinema, I think it should also be adequate for my work, and I like the atmosphere of a film, with the smell of popcorn (ñami) would be fine for me.

As I have not worked much in my life, I think that no work would be too bad, I need to make money so I can not be so picky lol

Such is life, I hope not hate my job when I already have one.

A song that has a special meaning

Think of only one song was very difficult, because I love the music and most of the songs I heard are important and I remember many moments in my life.

 There's a song that I think is very important to me. I remember listening long after that I had a boyfriend who cheated me.

 I remember many songs make me shead tears, until one day I found an album of Silvio Rodriguez. 

You must think it's not the best artist pretending to listen to overcome a relationship, especially if someone broke your heart.

Magically on the CD was a song that made me felt much better. This song connected me with things I liked and wanted in my life.

The song is titled "Quien fuera" a few years ago the Chilean band Los Bunkers did a cover of this song that I also like.

The song also gave me strength to not go back to that boyfriend.

I helped me find myself and know that was what I really wanted.

I remember listening every day to remember there are more important and more terrible things and there are also wonderful things, wonderful possibilities that life gives us every day to fight for what we want.

A day I will always rememeber

It was the summer of 2009, I had already received the results of the PSU test and had not been selected to go to college, but my family and I thought that all was not lost in any case I would take a year to study for test and take it a second time

Anyway like I said all was not lost , there was hope, there was a chance. My father and I had gone to college to enroll in the process of further waiting list.

if the list came running and vacancies were released, there was a remote chance of going to college, but still was an opportunity I could not miss.

The days passed, and suddenly one day his sleep in the morning my phone rings, do not answer as he slept.

When I woke up later, I remembered the call and check my phone, I realized that I had in the mailbox a voice message (no one ever heard such messages!) was an unknown number, so I decided to listen.

He was the secretary of the University, called me to tell me that I had been selected to enter the career of Visual Arts, and if accepted the vacancy as soon as possible should go to enroll

I was very happy and excited I remember listening to the message jumped and screamed with joy, was fulfilling the dream of entering the University of Chile. I will always remember that moment. Imagine if I had not heard that voice message! I can not imagine my life without that day, it was a memorable day.

Second Semester Reflexions

I must say that this semester has been very hard, because of the number of classes I had to take and because of this the days get shorter, not enough hours to perform all the tasks required by the university. This is very frustrating as the desire and motivation are enough, but the time to study is not sufficient to complete these task. The only solution to this problem is the organization, have an agenda has been very useful in this semester, at least help to sort tasks and mind.

Every hour of the day has become something very valuable, also the time to relax and have fun, which is not much. Anyway this problem of lack of time, it has served to me to appraise further leisure, and visiting friends and family, enjoy the outdoors, take time to be with my boyfriend, short trips, time for practice sports, anyway, many activities that can not be put aside, because for me are very important in my life, so if I stop doing these things, which makes me happy, I get depressed, I can't spend all time alone, stressed and working for the university, so the only solution has been to organize my time, this is the most positive thing I could do this semester, nobody says it easy and fast to reach this balance (sometimes I do not make it) but I think little by little I have carry out.

I hope, if I keep working this way everything goes well, so I can pass all classes (including English Level 4 obviously)

How green are you?

Today I will talk about the need to recycle.

I believe that in Chile many people care about the environment and recycling, but unfortunately this green action not complemented with the country, I think it's because the government does not seem really concerned about the environment and care not implemented actual recycling policies and for the whole community, so not all actions as separate waste recycling, real will, since the garbage truck will gather all we can say that the recycling cycle is incomplete

In my experience I can say that my cycle of recycling if completed at some points, for example separated from the organic garbage: Plastic bottles, glass, cardboard and paper that is recycled. I also separated milk cartons, which must be washed before recycling. I also save water in the bathroom in the toilet tank with water bottle is left, so save water because they do not need all that water to flush the toilet.

Other things I do to help the environment: I use cloth bags to go to the supermarket, and sometimes, when I can use my bike (I do it in Rancagua, especially in the summer) if not so I use public transportation or just walk. I think you can always do more things to help the environment, but I feel that any contribution however small it is just as important and meaningful.

A movie that I like and movie that I hate

Today I will talk about the movie that I like and I hate mos

It is very hard for me to pick a favorite film becuase I really like the movies in all its forms, anyway I must choose one, and choose as a favorite movie: Inglorius Bastards, film of Quentin Tarantino. The film was released in 2009, he received several awards including an Oscar.

 

The film is a fiction set in Nazi Germany, where two groups converge. One of this is a group of soldiers whose goal is to eliminate nazi soldiers, led by first Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt). The other group is the story of a Jewish woman named Shoshana (Melanie Laurent) which escapes from Nazi persecution, which is led by Colonel Hans Landa of the SS (Christoph Waltz)called the "Jew Hunter" is this character which murdered Shoshana Family, she swore revenge. Both stories are crossing between the group of Lt. Aldo Rain and history Shoshana, to eliminate the high-ranking Nazis.

I think I can say that this is one of my favorite movies because the director and the film type proposed which always has a portion of comedy and also a lot of blood. I must mention the soundtrack, which adds emotion to the film

And a movie I hate: Zoolander could say that is because they do not really like that kind of absurd comedy, it becomes boring for me. Most of my friends think that is the funniest movie I'm just saying it's too ridiculous. And I forgot to say that I hate Ben Stiller, in the only film which it actually liked is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

An artist that I admire

Hello classmates! Today I'm going talk about an artist that I admire. I must say that I admire very types of artists but if I had to choose one in particular would definitely be Victor Jara, this artist was a great musician, composer, actor, theater director and political activist.

Victor Jara became an international benchmark of the “protest song” and at national level it was one of the most emblematic artists of the “new Chilean song”, becoming one of the most recognized figures in Chilean folklore.

He was born in the province south of Chile called Ñuble in September 1932, he grew up with parents who were farmers and brothers, his mother learned to play guitar and sing.

Victor studied theater in a school of the Universidad de Chile, here it is becoming one of the best directors of the Chilean scene, earning awards and critical acclaim specialized. His work in popular music is central to what know today as Chilean folklore, his musical creation is always inclined to the rescue of the popular traditions, because of this and to his great talent that his songs become something like hymns of the “popular song”.

Since 1970 assumed a political commitment by participating in the campaigns of the “Unidad Popular” and government of Salvador Allende. After the September 11, will be taken arrested and then killed by the military dictatorship. It is for all his talent and great socialcommitment that I admire deeply.

The best holidays I've had

Hi classmates, today I'm going to talk about my best holidays I`ve had.

I must say that all my vacations have been unforgettable, this includes the holidays with my family and the journeys with my best friends. 

If I had to choose one special vacation with my family definitely I would pick my childhood holidays, these consisted of travelling to the beach in the little town of Guanaqueros, this is in the 4th region. All the summers since 1991 until 1997 we are travelling by car to Guanaqueros, we stay in the same place every year. I can say the vacation memories of my childhood are all in the same place, with the same activities, like a rutine of summer, this may sound boring, but it was not, because all the years I made new friends, obviously this friendship during just the week of the holidays.

Many times we spent the holidays with my cousins and their families to, on these occasions the holidays were far more fun, because the hours of games were endless, and the sandcastles became giants. I never forget the same restorant when we were going all the years, it was called “The Little”, I keep beautiful memories of great lunches with my family watching the sea.

A country I would like to visit

Hello classmates, in this oportunity i talk about the country i would like to visit, this is Italy. I wanna go to Italy because i am fan of this culture. 

I would like to go to visit the monumental architecture like a Colosseum, countless

cathedrals and whole cities like Venice, Rome and Florence for example.

I'm interested this country not only by architecture, also interested the pieces of art, the work of the great masters of art like a Michelangelo, Piero della Francesca, Leonardo da Vinci, to name a few. I would like the famous museums which are pieces of world art.

I can not forget to mention on of the most important attributes for me, the delicius Italian food, Ican say this is my favorite food, and is the favorite food of my family to. So it would be like a dream for us go to Italy, maybe the next year our dream come true.

My Blog Experience

Hello partners! Today I will talk about the experience that has been studing English III. I've noticed, which are the things that have been more dificult and the ones that have been a easier. It is hard for me to speak and write than to understand and listen English. I can’t speak English and is not only by the difficult, it is because the nerves play against me. I feel ashamed to look ridiculous in front of the class. I have made progress leaving the nerves aside even though it is a bit difficult. 
I like the idea to post in the blog every week, I found something positive for the development of the lesson as it gives us the ability to write whatever we want, like writing about our childhood, career and personal interest. I believe that my vocabulary has expanded and i could refresh aspects of the language and its grammar. I consider the fact that not all members of the class are previous classmates, forces us to express and lose the fear of ridicule. So I want to thank everybody and I wish you the best of luck.

My Work as Theoroitician

Throughout the study years of my career, I've read a lot about art history, aesthetics and philosophy, knowing all kinds of artistic expressions and context, with this knowledge we can submerge into the theoretical issues that interest us more, which can be a particular artistic discipline, movement, an artist, or the context around them, such as the social, political context, the philosophical precepts and also the fundamental value of the aesthetics in the arts. It is this  concept, aesthetics, one of the most fundamental when it comes to my work, writings and my undergraduate thesis. Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy that allows us to analyze the problems of art.

 I have studied various areas of art of which I consider important is the field of aesthetics as it becomes essential to understand the artistic expression art itself. Another area of my career that I consider vital to our profession, is the area of documentation and conservation, since it is necessary to have a special interest in this area, because without it we are nothing, we would not have all the knowledge we have in the arts and history today. At this point in the career, I am preparing my undergraduate thesis, which has much to do with aesthetics and the area of national documents, where the object of study is the picture of protest of the 1980s in our country.

My Favorite Birthday

Hi classmates!

In this blog I will talk about what I consider my best childhood birthday. It was my fourth birthday and at that time I still lived in Santiago with my father in a small apartment. So that we could celebrate a birthday with all my friends in the preschool yard, one of the smaller sister of my father offered her home to celebrate my birthday (which had a large patio to make children's birthday)

With the issue of space solved, I remember my mom as good preschool teacher, she performed with his own hands games for my birthday, I remember that I do some panels with drawings of faces with open mouths to play basquetball with socks balls, we also played the classic game of "pin the tail on the donkey" and  scavenger hunts.

I remember having so much fun with my friends, cousins and uncles who were also part of the celebration. Impossible to forget the gifts I received, one that I like the more was an Barbie looking outfit, it was a picnic dress, because it came with picnic basket. Regarding food, I do not remember much. If I can remember correctly there were the classic "surprises" that are given to children birthday guests in the moment they leave, this was a bag or box containing various sweet types and a small toy, this "surprise" indulged in children birthdays as a symbol of gratitude for coming to the celebration and also as a reminder of a good birthday (don’t know if this still happens today)

Although I do not remember all the details, I can remember the feeling. That birthday, I felt fine and I feel that is one of the birthdays where I had more fun. That’s why I remember it as one of my Best birthday ever.

The Story of a Picture

Hello everyone! Today I will talk about this photograph, please excuse the poor quality of the image, but it is for a reason, because it is a picture of my 1996 school yearbook which I took with my phone.

 In the picture you can see a girl painting. Its me in the picture,  I was only five years old. In the photo you can see me painting a picture of flowers which was showed at the Academy of Painting , as you can see I was interested in Arts since childhood! for me is very important because this photo alone tells a little about the interest that I have in Arts from an early age, it is something that defines me. The photography was taken by the same art teacher.

My Favorite Recipe

One of the things that I like to do is cook Italian food, one of my favorite recipes is the bolognese lasagna. It is said there are many ways to do it, even the order in which the lasagna is prepared. In my home, my family usually makes it in one particular way, which is the way I adopted.

First, you must have all the ingredients prepped. You need 400ml tomato sauce, 400g of ground beef, onion, grated carrot, and various condiments. I also put white sauce (a lot of people do it) I use a large can of cream, which is heated and spiced. The rest ingredient would be the pasta, I buy a packet in any supermarket, this must be boiled according to package directions, boiled for about 10 min in a large pot with oil and salt to taste. We also need cheese cut in strips to put between layers of lasagna. Once the pasta and sauces are ready you need need a baking dish. To Assemble, first pour a layer of sauce on the base of the dish, then cover with a layer of pasta, put cream and shredded cheese, then again a layer of bolgnesa sauce with shredded cheese and sauces. I repeat this process at least 3 times. Finally on top of the last layer of dough pour a little cream and cheese to gratinate in the oven. the lasagna must be  in the oven for about 10 minutes, until cheese looks melted and has a little brownish colour. then there’s nothing left but serve the lasagna into square pieces and enjoy.

The Monsters of My Childhood

I remember as a child I was really frightened of ghost stories. I do not have those memories that many people have or movies such as Freddy Krueger "chuky, Devil Doll", this is because in my home my parents did not allow me to see such movies, they don’t like them that much either, so no fears grew with those monsters. what scared me most certainly were ghost stories, like those given in a program of TVN, "when you least expect", where you could see stories in which the dead returned as ghosts to communicate with their living relatives, or worse, to hurt someone just to kill or scare.

I must say that the fear of ghosts I had in my childhood are still with me, I must also say that I never see horror films because fear drops me dead. Anyways, I 've seen the occasional horror movie with which I get scared more than normal people hahaha. To even think about going to the cinema to see one, scares me. I love movies, but I do not like blowing up from my seat in shock. 

An Expert on Your Field

She is Whitney Chadwick, she is american feminist art historian, she is a professor at San Francisco State University and has published books on issues of gender and sexuality in modernism, surrealism, and contemponary art.

Her book Women, Art and Society, explores the history of womens cotributions in the art history since the middle ages to the 21st century, examination of the intersection of class, race, gender with culture, geography, politics, religion and criticism. The writer analyses the wrong prejudgement regarding minimizing the work of women artists in the history compared to the men artists and explanis why the women were not so famous in their time and today. In this investigation also talks about of the relationship between woman and art.

In this book Chadwick intends clams the labor of this women artists and hes work, seeks to place them in their rightful place in the history of art. She for me is on of the most important writers and researchers in the field of arts, because she rescues the work of women artists undervalued and even unknown.

My Favourite Piece of Technology

I never had an Iphone, but the last year steal my old cellphone, this cellphone was old and wasted, it did not work well, so after the robbery I needed a new cellphone, because I was incommunicated.

Over the days, I missed had a cellphone, I missed talk by Whatsapp, chek my Apps, I fell in a desert island, maybe I overreacted I know.

When arrive the moment and I have the money necessary for pay a new cellphone, my father accompanied to buy new cellphone, I just want the same old smartphone, but not, the only option was a Iphone 4s, so I don't have options, I never used an Iphone, but now I loved because its so easy to used, and its so fast, my life its complete with my Iphone, that its a joke, but its true I used all the day and I now understand the people loves the Iphones.

Expectations for a new semester.

My expectation for this semester are very demanding, because I have little time and many courses in the University, I hope and I need pass all the courses, for the intentions graduate on time. It is a hard work, because the most days I finish classes so late and tired, and I need more time and energy for a reading in my home, for the next day. I hope to have what it takes to, because sometimes I fear not to achieve my goals.

One of these goals is start my thesis, I started now because I need advance all the work possible to the next year, and this I can finish my thesis as soon as possible

My Auto-Biography

Hi my name is Francisca Crovari,
I was born in Santiago, capital of Chile, but when I was 4 years old my family and me had to move to Rancagua, my parents were raised there. Rancagua is a city at the south of Santiago, its the capital of the sixth region, its a farming zone, surrounded by animals, like cows, horses, hens, and other farm animals , and the place is a very green because is sorrounded of the fields, and mountains, is also a mining area where the mineral cooper is exploited.

My mother is a kindergarden teacher, but she works in the public services in the area of administration in Integra Fundation, and my father is a civil constructor, and he works in a company in the Salar de Atacama, and my younger brother studies in a school.

I was raised in this city, I was in the same school always, Colegio Coya, and graduated in there, with my same classmates and friends since kindergarden.

My hobbies, painting, reading, latin america dancings and I like growing plants in my back yard.

I come back to Santiago in 2009, for study Visual Arts in University of Chile, then returns to Rancagua, and come back to Santiago in a 2011, to change carrer, and then in a 2012 start to study Teory and History of Arts, in the same University, and now I in the 4th year of carrer.

And I living with my best friend, dowtown Santiago.
